10 benefits and uses of apples:

  1. Apples are high in fibre and more beneficial to eat the whole fruit skin and flesh

  2. Apples contain pectin that bulk up the stool and can treat diarrhea and prevents constipation

  3. Make your own apple cider vinegar (ACV) using apples, unprocessed raw sugar or raw honey and filtered water. ACV is ideal for insect bites and certain skin allergies

  4. Apples are a good source of Vitamin C and potassium (which is beneficial effect for heart health)

  5. Apples contain pectin, type of fiber that acts as a pre-biotic and it feeds the good bacteria in your gut

  6. The antioxidants in red apples improve the functioning of the immune system

  7. Apples are free f fat, sodium and cholesterol

  8. There is approximately 25 grams of Carbohydrates in 1 medium apple (182 grams), therefore Diabetics can snack on them

  9. 65 grams of applesauce can replace one egg in most recipes (it is best to use unsweetened applesauce)

  10. Dried apples along with other dried fruits are good to snack on during the day
